OPENING: Meeting called to order @ 8:03pm. President
Paul Jusino introduced Vice Commodore, Dan Dizio, who welcomed the delegates.

HEADS/ORGANIZATIONS: All present except Audit & Budget, Donations, National Boating
Federation, Safe Boating and Yearbook.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes were amended and
accepted.
OFFICERS &
COMMITTEE REPORTS
President: Juice thanked the clubs for their hospitality
at Opening Days. He stressed to everyone
to try to attend functions/events at the various clubs this summer. Juice received a certificate of appreciation
for attending Delaware River Day at Penn’s Landing in May. Link on website concerning additional
methanol in fuel. Join opposition of
this as it effects our fuel tanks and engines.
Juice is looking for 12 officers for Honor Guard at pageant.

Banquet: Mary Jusino – no report
Cruise: Bob Grace – 2009 cruise begins this weekend
at Summit North. All are welcomed to
join by car if they can. 11 boats will
be cruising.
Donations – no requests.
Fleet Surgeon: Harry Borgersen – watch what you eat this summer. Diabetes is on the rise. Have a sugar test once a year. Also 1 out of 3 accidents are “fall” accidents. If you fall, you should get checked out.
NJ Legislation: John Honer – no report.
Pageant: Toni Nespola – Introduced Queen and
princesses in attendance. Pageant is
next month and the theme is DRYL Beach Party..
All docking, ads, t-shirt and button orders are due tonight. All t-shirts and buttons will be in by next
meeting. Toni mentioned “Queen’s Court”
for future princesses. These girls will
be involved with the pageant and upcoming events. Officers for Honor Guard need to be in full
proper uniforms. Preliminary judging
will be at Cannstatters on August 5th. Princess luncheon will be on the docks this
year. Looking for clubs to donate papers
goods or food. If you have unsold raffle
tickets, please turn them in so someone else can sell them. Still looking for club burgees. Toni reviewed pageant day itinerary.
Picnic: Marie Houseworth – Saturday, September 12th at
Pennsylvania Yacht Club. Theme is Mardi
Gras. Tickets are $20; children ages
11-17 are $10; children under 10 are free.
Tickets are limited to 400 adult and 100 children. Money due by the September DRYL meeting. Docking options: mooring and anchorage. Shuttles will be provided. Anyone using shuttles must wear PFDs. Marie reviewed menu, list of club
competitions and children’s games. She
is looking for help with the children’s games.
There will be raffles, 50/50 and a DJ from 1-6pm.
Public Affairs: Bill Garwood – Spoke about
Route I-95 construction, the re-direction of traffic and the chaos it will
probably create. Urged everyone to
submit their opinion to Philadelphia politicians and the news.
Regatta: Fred Saunders – July 25th. West End/FSA/Bristol are starting
points. Start before 12 noon and be back
at FSA by 3pm. There will be 5 top prizes
this year AND a loser’s pool. For $5
extra you can enter the loser’s pool and take a chance to win $200. Additionally, $1 from each hand will be
donated to a charity. Applications are
available on the website.

Association - SE (PBA): Bill Garwood – Next meeting for PBA/SE is the third Wednesday in
September (9/16) at Anchor YC in Bristol, PA.

BUSINESS

Insurance certificates are in and will be mailed to committee
heads. Will also be e-mail to President
Jusino.
·
All boats attending DRYL events by boat should be able to provide proof
of insurance.
· $1065 for DRYL insurance policies
· $3043.62 for pageant expenses
· $77.65 to Recording Secretary for copies
· Bob Bocock/Yapewi/Bordentown looking for help to stop ordinance that would prohibit all boat traffic on Crosswicks Creek. May be looking to DRYL for support.
· Juice received a letter from the Coalition for PA Waterfront (CPW) asking him to join. He will attend next meeting and make a determination.
FINANCIAL
REPORTS
Checkbook
opening balance for May was $11,012.55.
Financial secretary reported income of $9,160.55 while Phyllis Blackeby
reported disbursements of $4,186.27, resulting in a checkbook closing balance
of $15,986.83. A motion was made, seconded and approved to pay the bills. The treasurer’s report was not read at the
meeting due to extra time needed to do accounting because monies from pageant
and docking were turned in tonight.

Quaker City raised $1500 for family of Tim Simpson and thanked
Wissinoming YC for their help.

Yapewi – 7th annual Luau/Pig Roast will be held on August 15th. Authentic Hawaiian entertainment. Price is $25 for adults and includes
breakfast the next day.

Anchor YC Rockin On the River Luau is August 1st featuring a
live band “ The Buicks” Price is $25
